Day in and day out, Knight Insurance Group’s Nick Etter delivers customer service that shines.

"Nick’s attitude, knowledge, and professionalism are outstanding,” says Greg Corbitt, Chief Sales Officer. “During his seven years at Knight Insurance Group, he has consistently shown a desire to learn and grow. Every day, he lives the Knight core values of Relentless Focus, Exceptional Standards, and Enduring Relationships. I am thrilled he is on our team and enjoy working with him as a fellow employee-owner.”

Nick began his insurance career while in high school, working part-time in the Commercial Lines Department at Central Mutual Insurance Company. He began working as an intern at the Toledo, Ohio-based Knight Insurance Group as an Account Technician while attending Bowling Green State University. Nick joined the agency full-time after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in insurance studies. He is now an Account Manager for the agency’s transportation book of business and has earned the Transportation Risk and Insurance Professional (TRIP) designation.

“I first learned customer service skills at Central,” Nick says, adding that the most important component to delivering great customer care is having a passion for service work.

“You have to love your work, and I do,” he says. “I am proud of the culture and values we espouse at Knight Insurance Group and our mission of being the agency of choice for our clients, carriers, and community. I truly think that if a customer service representative abides by the values of Enduring Relationships, Relentless Focus, and Exceptional Standards, the rest will follow.”

“My goal is to impact the transportation industry by helping my clients understand risk and how to mitigate exposures through insurance or risk management techniques. Conducting client safety meetings is one of my favorite services, as I get to meet the drivers and talk about their road experience. From their insights, I craft customized recommendations to assist my clients,” Nick says, adding that he also enjoys building enduring relationships with coworkers, clients, and carriers.

“I have met so many diverse people from varied walks of life, and our relationships have become personal. Many clients think insurance is a transactional purchase, but I consider it a partnership,” he says.

The Knight Insurance Group has also become a family to Nick. “When I married my wife, Alicia, and became a father to my daughter, Ava, my Knight family was there with me. Not only did my coworkers travel a distance to attend my wedding, but they also supported me as a new father. I couldn’t wait to introduce my new baby girl to my coworkers—a telling sign of how much they mean to me. I hope that everyone can experience a workplace as close-knit as Knight. It has truly made a great impact on my life,” he says.

Congratulations to Nick Etter, an Outstanding Service Professional!
