Utah businesses looking for a one-stop shop for professional services need look no further than Integrated Solutions. With a motto of “Business Made Simple,” Integrated Solutions provides insurance, payroll, human resources, tax, and accounting services, while delivering strategic advice and recommendations from team members.

“Although we have clients of all sizes, we love working with small businesses in particular and understand the challenges they face,” says Teri Paulson, Co-Owner of Integrated Solutions with her husband, Flynn. “We are also extremely proud of the long-term relationships we’ve established with both our clients and team members.”

Building Connections

Teri and Flynn created Integrated Solutions in Salt Lake City in 2000 with one goal in mind: taking care of people. The business started by providing insurance and payroll services and built out its current suite of services over time. As the agency’s business has grown, so has its staff, expanding to 80 team members today.

The agency’s goal extends to its own team as well. With a focus on creating a collaborative, people-focused culture, Integrated Solutions uses several strategies to promote effective communication and problem-solving, including a DISC communication assessment for all staff. Team members use DISC profiles to learn more about each other and work together more effectively. Additionally, a mentoring program places new sales staff with experienced team members for up to three years.

“Our mentoring program has really helped propel our growth and create even stronger teamwork within the agency,” Teri says.

The agency also stays on the leading edge of technology. “Technology is definitely a skill set of our people. We’re the first to embrace new systems, and we give other agencies and carriers feedback from our experience. Acuity is also a good match for the way we do business because of their high focus on technology,” says Teri.

Integrated Solutions’ technology investment paid dividends during COVID. “Because we were so well positioned with our agency management platform, virtual meeting technology, and other systems, we actually went on a hiring boom over the last year, which definitely propelled our growth,” says Teri, adding that the agency is exploring ways to leverage technology in its continuing education programs by creating additional online options.

Goal-Oriented

Integrated Solutions is very goal-oriented, setting what it calls WIGs, or wildly important goals. Each department conducts a weekly ARCH (accountability, responsibility, commitment, and help) assessment to ensure those goals are being achieved. Among those goals is geographic expansion.

“We want to move into additional western states that have a similar demographic to Utah,” says Teri, adding that the agency believes its focus on “Business Made Simple” will propel its success in the years ahead.

“In today’s complex business climate, small companies are craving any help they can get,” she says. “We see tremendous opportunity in providing solutions, turning the complex simple, and helping business owners do more and grow their own companies.”
