CSR of the Month - Becky Grove

Commercial Lines Marketing Agent Becky Grove is a key component to the Doty and Hench agency’s sales success.

“Becky is invaluable—we couldn’t operate without her,” says Joe Geise, President of the State College, Pennsylvania-based agency. “She is incredibly detail-oriented and knows everything about all our carriers to best market accounts. Nothing gets by her.”

Becky joined the agency in 1999 as an intern while attending Penn State. She stayed with the agency after earning her bachelor’s degree in labor relations and took on increasing responsibility over the years on the way to her current position. 

“Like a lot of people in insurance, I didn’t really choose this career—it found me. Once I started working here, I realized all the industry and this agency has to offer,” she says.

Over her career, Becky has learned that responsiveness is the cornerstone to great customer service.

“Picking up the phone and letting people know we are here to help them protect their assets and safeguard their business is important. Even if you don’t know the answer right away, let people know what you are going to do to find it, then follow through,” she says, adding that her colleagues at Doty and Hench, Gearhart Herr, and R. R. Motter Agency share a commitment to taking care of customers.

“Everyone works very hard to be sure our service is consistent, and we are always doing the right thing for customers,” she says. “They’re also part of what makes working here fun—it’s been wonderful to meet and work with so many great people over the years.”
